Take Back The House Results
At the close of the 2004 legislative session Republicans had 81 seats to our 53. Now Republicans are down to 68-66 pending a recount in 8B (Tim Faust vs. incumbent Judy Soderstrom). Republicans lost 13 seats. We made huge in roads with wins in the suburbs and two in Rochester! We also unseated at 11 incumbents!
SD65 targeted several of these races as a part of the Take Back the House Campaign. Thank you so much for your time, energy, and money that you poured into these races. We couldn't have done all of this without you. Here are the results of those races. (The DFL candidate is listed first.)
- 39A - Rick Hansen defeated Paul Ives 55.3% to 44.6%

- 52B - Incumbent Rebecca Otto lost Matt Dean 48.3% to 51.6%

- 55A - Leon Lillie defeated Jan Steiner (R) and Brian Balfanz(I) 54.8% to 38.8% to 6.3%

*Update: The recount in 8B did not result in a change in the results of the election. Judy Soderstrom will be the state represenative for 8B.
